Dear Parents and Family Members,
I am so glad to be here at Galloway Elementary. This letter is to serve as a reminder of a few things about the clinic so that I am able to take care of your children in the best possible manner while they are at school.
Please send any changes of address, phone numbers etc. to the front office.
Please be sure that your child has all his/her immunizations up to date.
If your child needs medications at school this year, please be sure that:
1. All student medications must be prescription only. (This includes over the counter medications) All medicines must be in a properly labeled prescription bottle from the pharmacy.
Please keep your child at home if your child has any of the following symptoms either the night before or the morning of school:
1. Nausea/vomiting
2. Fever of 100 degrees or more WITHOUT medication to reduce the temperature. Please do not give Tylenol or Ibuprofen to a child with a fever and then send them to school. A fever indicates that a child has some form of CONTAGIOUS illness. Your child must be 24 hours fever free without the use of medications to suppress fever before they can return to school.
3. Runny, crusty, red or pink eyes. This can indicate a contagious condition in which your child could need medication. (Even eye allergies may sometimes need medication)
4. Complaint of an earache which wakes them up at night. This symptom usually means a child needs to be seen by a doctor.
Thank you for helping to keep Galloway healthy!!
Sincerely,
Nurse Dossey BSN-RN
